Hi, I've had a Mirena coil for 6 years with no problems. Had it re-fitted in Feb and the pain was just horrendous. My coil has now come out and I have been scheduled to have another on Wednesday. Because of the pain I was in last time they ave offered to numb my cervix by directly injecting it with local anesthetic. I've never heard of it before and was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this??

Thanks Steph x

Hi, I had it - it was fine - just the feeling of a little scratch when they gave the injection. The insertion was still painful - but I'm sure better than it would have been without the injection! good luck!
