i had unprotected sex last night. early morning i douch instead of taking MAP. is it a safe move?

joan - December 16th, 2009 12:00 PM

way too impossible! douching won't help! it won't prevent you from getting pregnant!

irene - December 16th, 2009 12:14 PM

LOL! i used to do that thinking it could help to flush out sperm. but what i thought is wrong because i got pregnant. hahaha, so don't do that it won't
help!

lenny - December 16th, 2009 12:51 PM

it's not a safe move!!! MAP is the only thing i know effective in killing sperms.

megan - December 16th, 2009 1:07 PM

think about it... if this thing can prevent pregnancy then we don't need birth control anymore...

hale - December 16th, 2009 1:57 PM

it's the worst idea i've ever heard.douching is pointless because sperm are able to travel in the cervix for a matter of seconds only. you have the the
wrong move, you should have taken MAP instead.

if you douch, it's like you're pushing the semen more inside so there WILL be more chance of getting pregnant. this can also cause yeast infection.

yes you can still take morning after pill. it's still safe to use it up until 3 days. but i wished you have taken it earlier though.

elizabeth - December 18th, 2009 8:12 PM

you can still take it now, today is your 3rd day right? i advice you take it today or never.

Douching will not prevent pregnancy. In fact, douching could cause more problems by washing away good and bad bacteria. Sometimes the bad bacteria grows back very fast and overproduces. This can lead to bacterial vaginosis, which can cause an odor, discharge, and itching. Try to avoid douching or washing with any soaps in your vagina.
