i have had the coil in for around six months and i had a period the first month and then nothing for the next three months and since that its been nearly every week there is something

it can last for a few hours or a few days can be heavy or light

cramps are very sore at times is it just setteling in or what please help; L

I've had a mirena for about 18months now. During my first 6months or so my bleeding patterns were really strange(simular to how you are describing). Before having it fitted, I used to get fairly regular and quite light periods. Now I never get periods except for some very occasional spotting.

but I would say go to see your doctor to check its ok. When I had mine fitted they said to go to them if there were any problems and during the first months I went 3 times just to check it. Its better to be safe than sorry!

At the end of the day, you sound worried, you know your body better than anyone and if your posting this you have probably already answered the question of whether you should pop to the doctors or not (you can even get it checked at some STI/family planning clinics)
