Well here's my story,
I'm 30 and i have been abusing pain medication (opiates) and i have a feeling that it might have something to do with my problem getting pregnant. First it did affect my period, sometimes i wouldn't have any for months and other times i would have my period for a month but very light.

I know that i definitely ought to stop using pain medication before getting pregnant but my question was does it affect fertility...while and after as to say it would be a long term affect. Because my partner and i have been sexualy active for months now without using a condom or any other sorts of contraseptions. and i have yet to get pregnant... weird...

Hi izalena,
Sometimes conception takes a while me and DH been at it 18months and no joy. Some meds do have long term affects but I have not heard about them affacting your chancs of getting pregnant. There is a possibility you have PCOS and that why you don't always have periods. The best thing I can suggest is to see your GP about it.
Good luck with conception
