Hi,
I am 20 years old nearly 21 and me and my partner are ready for a family...
I am just very worried that one of us may have problems...
is there any way that we can have tests done to discover this or is it a simple case of just try and get pregnant and see what happens?

Thanks :)

Your doctor will probably ask you to try for at least a year before they start doing any tests. If you have any history of medical problems that might affect yours or your partner's fertility then you should still speak to the doc.

Other than that you could try monitoring your ovulation using a kit from Boots, etc and keep healthy (both of you!). It's also useful to keep a record of your periods so that when you do go to the doctors you can give that info straight away.

Bear in mind that if you have used the pill, injection or implant (for contraception) the affects can take a while to wear off.

Good Luck x
