is it true that raised cholesterol increases around the time of the
menopause?i'm in menopause and feels that my cholesterol level have been high.

yes, i have had mine for many years and increased when started meno. it is most likely caused by hormonal changes. so again and again... wew, normal!

i think i have read an article about cholesterol and menopause. so this are all true huh? how come my GP never mentioned this?

maybe because they actually have no idea! if we could just choose a doctor who has been through menopause, then maybe we can get more informations.

i suggest you ladies to have a regular cholesterol test. if doctor's doesn't care enough to let you know, at least you're already aware...

you know why this isn't always or never mentioned by doctors? it's because there has been very little awareness of the association with menopause.
