Most likely, but the answer is no. Menopause is when the body no longer drops the egg. So therefore, it is impossible to get pregnant during menopause. |

I have read an article about this and it says that, until woman hasn't had menses for atleast a year can possibly still get pregnant. This is because, she may still ovulate during this time. |

Menopausal baby usually refers to a baby conceived around the time a woman thought she was entering menopause. Health risks are really high on this kind of situation both for the mother and child. |

This happened to a friend of mine. At 50 years old, she was told by her gynecologists that she was starting the menopause. Believe it or not, a year later after not having her menstrual cycle, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. I guess this is what they call, the menopausal baby. |

Late pregnancies occur because a woman may still be fertile enough to conceive during the time of perimenopausal stage. Therefore, its yes! |

Ladies, thanks for your replies. So do you mean to say that, if you are still having period regardless of their irregularity then you are actually still ovulating? |

It is clear without a doubt even though you are in the beginnings of your menopause years, you still have a possibility of getting pregnant. The question now is, do you still want to get pregnant? i mean, i can't imagine having a baby at 48. does anyone of you here wanting a baby at this age? |

Hahaha... Now, that's a good question to start. While most woman are awaiting the arrival of their grandchildren, who would want to start all over again with a baby at this age? |

I have read an article that the benefits of late motherhood are physical, emotional and social. This means that, woman who have babies in their late 40's have longer lives. |

I say early 20's or early 30's are the best time for motherhood. Woman are independent and confident with this age. |

marsha: i don't think theres anything wrong with having babies at this age. personally, i’m more concerned as to the health risks of the mother and child, than what others say about it. |

as woman gets older, it becomes harder to carry pregnancy full term. i think it is very important to talk to your doctor if you're planning to have late pregnancies. |

in addition to marsha's reply, i don't think that a 10 year old kid would want to have a 58 year old mother. too old isn't it? i believe that having children while young has a lot of benefits for the child. |
