Breast cancer - women who have had breast cancer may have a higher risk of developing osteoporosis after the menopause. This is especially the case if they were treated with chemotherapy or aromatase inhibitors (anastrozole and letrozole) which suppress estrogen.

hopefully someone can anwser this, been curious for so long. i wonder if HRT can be much of help.

taking HRT prevents you from osteoporosis but increases the risk of developing breast cancer. therefore, taking HRT to prevent osteoporosis but having a breast cancer history makes a big NO NO!

what about intramuscular injections or pellets? is this safe for women who had breast cancer history?

janine - September 30th, 2009 2:18 AM

intramuscular injections and pellets are the most commonly used forms of testosterone. your doctor can provide more information about this.

there is no 100% guaranteed intervention to prevent breast cancer occurrence.one thing more, treatment of breast cancer depends on the size and location of the tumor.

what treatment should a breast cancer patient use to treat menopause symptoms? what about patient who has undergone chemotherapy?
