heavy spotting or period is one of the most common causes of ill health in women. menopause is an obvious underlying reason for this.

i agree juliet, spotting simply indicates menopause. but still, i recommend you visit your gynecologist to identify the cause of spotting.

vaginal discomfort due to spotting cannot be stopped, but you can treat the problem if you see your doctor. spotting is not a long-term problem and can be cleared quickly in most cases.

spotting is often leftover tissue from your previous period from what i remember my doctor told me. just get some bed rest and raise your feet above your head. i know it doesn't sound convincing but i have tried this and my spotting stopped.

usually a birth control pill helps you stop spotting. but If it’s an ongoing problem then you may need to ask your doctor's advice.

i have heavily spottings between periods. do i have to be alarmed? i don't feel any pain but somehow it bothers me.

janine - September 25th, 2009 9:57 PM

if it is botthersome and affects your daily activities then you should see a doctor. i don't think it's normal to have heavy spottings between periods. i actually never heard of this before.

normal menstruation occurs on average every 28 days. so anywhere from 21 to 35 days between periods is considered normal.

been experiencing spotting between periods since my younger years. i have it checked once and the doctors says it's totally normal. since then, i haven't opened this up with my doctor anymore...
