I JUST WANTED TO HEAR SOME OF YOUR THOUGHTS OR MAYBE EXPERIENCES ON THIS. I AM TRYING TO LOSE SOME WEIGHT IN ORDER TO PREPARE MYSELF FOR PREGNANCY SINCE MY OBESITY CAUSED ME TO MISCARRY. SO, DO YOU THINK IT IS SAFE TO USE "OTC" SLIMMING PILLS?

hiejron - September 26th, 2009 7:42 AM

i don't think it is safe to use otc slimming pills.you should consult your dr before deciding because it may have some effect on the development of the baby.

WinonaBlues - September 26th, 2009 9:25 AM

That will be very risky to do Moela. I don't think it is effective to in losing weight. Slimming pills are isolated cases, I mean if there are those who really slim down, it will only be a few and with direct monitoring with some dietician. You should careful in making decisions like this because preparing for pregnancy is no joke at all.

THANKS LADIES FOR YOUR POINTS. I WAS THINKING OF THAT TOO BUT I WAS JUST GIVING IT A TRY TO ASK MOTHERS THAN THE DOCTOR BECAUSE MAYBE IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT VIEW (HOPING, HEHEHE) BUT I KNOW IT ISN'T SAFE AT ALL. JUST GOT TO DEAL WITH THIS LOSING WEIGHT THING THE NATURAL WAY (WHICH IS REALLY HARD).

i haven't thought of this in slimming down for a pregnancy. have you consulted a doctor for this MOELA? if so what did the doctor say?

Lipstick - September 29th, 2009 10:32 AM

This is definitely a no no. Taking slimming pills have certain side effects that might be critical for your pregnancy.

MOELA - September 30th, 2009 4:24 AM

WELL HAVEN'T REALLY CONSULTED IT LIKE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SUCH PROCEDURE. I JUST MENTIONED ONCE THROUGH A JOKE AND SHE SAID THAT IF I WANT TO RISK MY PREGNANCY.

Brightcurve - September 30th, 2009 6:37 PM

I think you should formally consult such with your doctor because it is a serious issue and who knows maybe she could have considered it. On the other hand I honestly doubt it because in preparing yourself for pregnancy, doctors will suggest as much as possible take no medications whatsoever except for folic acid or other vitamins that is necessary for the baby in the future pregnancy.

JaneGirl - December 22nd, 2009 9:28 PM

If you have to use your initial thinking, these OTC slimming pills are very harsh and may give a big effect to your body. So, it is really a great risk for women who is planning to get pregnant.

--cristy-- - December 22nd, 2009 9:33 PM

This is too dangerous and you are risking the chance of a healthy pregnancy.

JaneGirl - December 22nd, 2009 9:39 PM

Exactly! Don't get me wrong MOELA, I was just thinking why will you put such to risk, it will only complicate things.

HOPE - December 23rd, 2009 12:03 AM

IN MY OPINION MAYBE MOELA IS JUST TRYING TO CONSIDER ALL THAT "MIGHT" WORK BECAUSE OF DESPERATION. I'M SURE WE ALL UNDERSTAND THAT AS MOTHERS LONGING TO HAVE A LIVE BABY.

i also feel that kind of attitude wherein you can't anymore consider only the limited options but would grab every possibility of solving the problem.
