Has anyone heard of a new south american herb that is supposedly be able to cure genetial herpes? I know someone that has herpes and I have once overheard on a subway train that they heard it on the news. They said that FDA won't apporve. Does anyone know what its name it?

I think no "herb" can cure a viral infection. Urban myth.

The herb called the "Herbal Herpes Cure" is Prunella Vulgaris. It is a common weed (and also a highly esteemed medicinal herb) that has been used for centuries for internal and external wounds.

There is no "cure" for herpes, herbal or otherwise. It's a virus that retreats into your central nervous system when inactive.

not sure if it is an herb but all I could think of is red marine algae...there has been studies that document that certain forms of red marine algae reduce the formation of the herpes virus colonies and also slow down their ability to replicate.

There is no cure of some sort in the form of herbs for herpes. Maybe some would supress the symptoms but not totally cure it.

Why would the pharmecutical companies put a cure for herpes on the market? If everyone bought the cure and herpes was eradicated they wouldn't make any more money for it anymore. Their goal is to make money and nothing else. Whether it be herbal or something.

A useful herbal remedy for herpes is to combine tinctures of Echinacea, goldenseal, nettle and Siberian ginseng in equal measures. Take half a teaspoon three times a day to boost immune function.

Lysine (the amino acid) is very helpful for cold sores, which is another type of Herpes. I would definitely try that, it is cheap, and non toxic!
