I am concerned about a possible STD after I noticed few small red bumps on the back of my tongue . 3 weeks after exposure, I got a pcr dna test for HIV and that came back negative. Can it develop into oral thrush about 2 months after the exposure and does the bump sound like thrush? I dont think i have HIV but if the test results were false negative even if everything looks ok on the inside of the mouth. or can this be something else.

I wonder why everyone always thinks of std first?

Your sores are probably canker sores or apthous sores. Google that and see if it fits.

You wouldn't get thrush this fast from HIV and it doesn't sound like thrush.

I notice that it looks like a small red bump on the back of the tongue. It is definitely not an apthous sore nor a canker. I looked it up in the google.

2 months after the exposure MIGHT be syphilis, but its a bit late for the sore to appear.

If you have given oral sex, you should get it checked.

Oh first thread you said bumps - now you say bump. If its more than one, its not syphilis.

Though it doesn't sound a lot like it, you should look up geographic tongue, but you can at least rule it out. You should see your doctor since its bothering you.

You have very little chance of having an std or HIV if you had protected sex.
