Birth control helps prevent pregnancy, and intercourse is needed for that.

If you plan on having sex soon though, I would suggest you get birth control now so it can become effective. (It takes up to 3 months before it's effective)

Lupe if you don't know the answer to birth control and being fingered, I don't think you are ready to sexual activity also if his hands are not washed properly you can catch a very serious infection that can lead to many other future serious problems.
