Advice on switching from pill to IUD (coil)

Hi everyone :)
I really want to come off the pill and get a non-hormonal coil fitted. I need some advice on the following:
1.) I'm concerned about the discomfort of a coil when it's fitted. Is it quite painful?
2.) I've been on Rigevidon (combined pill) since June. Recently I've had some troubling anxiety and I read an article today about how the pill can cause or contribute to anxiety and depression. Would anyone agree with that? I'm wondering if maybe if I came off it I might not experience so much anxiety.
3.) What's the deal with periods if you have a coil? They regular, or.. ?

If context is any help, before I went on the pill I had an Implanon, which I had for two years and hated: irregular periods, horrible moods, it was constantly as if I was having PMT. I just want some form of contraception which won't screw with my hormone balance and the chemicals in my body, so the coil sounds perfect. But like any birth control I presume there are some nasty bits. So yeah, that's all I wanna know.

it's likely uncomfortable at first. best to choose the right doctor that is familiar enough with fitting the coil. you need to talk to your doctor before anything else, doctor-patient relationship is very important as the comfortability to trust your doctor will make things a lot easier for you.
