Weight gain / struggle to lose weight on Implanon?

Hiya! I'm new to the forum but I've been having issues with my current method of contraception and I don't know anyone else who has used Implanon..

Since I had the implant put in 2 years ago I've gained almost 3 stone, yet I've been keeping daily food diaries and been using a calorie tracker which shows that my diet hasn't changed at all. I have quite an active job and I've also tried loads of diets but I haven't been able to shift any of the weight! If anything it just keeps on going up and up and up..

I've also lost my sex drive and been suffering from prolonged bleeding for the last few months, so I'm at my wits end!

Has anybody else experienced unexpained weight gain on implanon, and if so did you manage to lose weight easily after removal? I just had mine removed tonight and I'm taking a break from all contraceptives as the weight gain has raised my blood pressure and made me unsuitable for the pill..

Thanks guys :)

it's actually a side effect when you are into implanon. i have the same experience as yours before, i gained a lot of weight and so i switched on to mirena. i also experienced changes on my menstrual periods and i am having a hard time to adjust.
