6-7 periods a year, always has been that way

Hey Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone knows what it means if I usually only have a period every two months? I thought it might be oligomenorrhea but supposedly that is supposed to develop, not always have been like that. My periods were a little heavier when I started, but the same space apart. I have them for two consecutive months only once a year. I have also had one that lasted 3 weeks, but I imagine that was caused by a sudden change in my lifestyle.
Anyone got any ideas?

If your periods occur at the same distance and last roughly the same amount of time then that is what is 'regular' for you and the chances are that you are ovulating regularly too. If not then there may be other factors that affect your ability to menstruate. This could be weight, stress or a diagnosed condition x

Thanks. Yeah they were always basically the same, until now... Randomly having three consecutive months. It is quite possibly diet/exercise.
