At the very beginning of fertility investigations.

Had our first appointment at the fertility clinic today. Disappointed to be told that I do have a problem and that I am not ovulating regularly if at all. Now have to have blood tests, a smear and swabs. Next cycle I have to have a scan mid cycle and a post coital test. They are checking to see if there is the possibility that my Fallopian tubes are blocked. If not they will start me on clomid. Just wondered what others experiences at this stage were like and if clomid has been successful for anyone in my position?

Hi becks1234,
Firstly, I would like to say that since its the beginning make sure that you have a good doctor as this is going to be a long journey and patience is the key. Its good to have a doctor with whom you have good rapport, kinda like a friend :). Thats for a short advice.
Well, I had low egg count as well but after treatment now progressing well with IVF with all the results normal and hoping for the best.
Good Luck.

I am similiar to you becks1234..... I am having Day 21 bloods tomorrow morning..... Already had a scan that 'showed signs of ovulation' and hubby has had a sperm analysis which came back normal. I'm positive about being in the system and that we are getting help but I am so scared that the results are going to tell me that I'm not actually ovulating..... Don't think I will get much sleep tonight :( xx
