Birth defects

I have a question that Doctors can't seem to answer for me. My son was born with a micro chromosone deletion. My husband and I both did genetics tesing and were normal. My older 2 childern from a different father are "normal". Is there any possiblity that my son was born with issues due to my husband being on paxil for so long? There are commercials out there saying if you were pregant and taking Paxil and your child has these certain side affects it could be from the Paxil. My son has some of the side affects, but my husband was taking the paxil. Can it somehow or something be in the sperm? Any comments would be helpful. Thank you.

Hi,
Paxil side effects include only weakness, drowsiness, nausea and other but these does n't include micro chromosone deletion. So yours side effects may not be by using paxil.

Paxil is used to treat depression right? i don't think there's a relevance with your son having a birth defect.

i have read an article saying paxil carries severe side effects like birth defects and may harm your unborn baby. so most probably paxil is the culprit.

sorry to hear about your baby.

paxil can damage sperm cells and or sperm quality which in the long run can also cause birth defects. hope this answers your question.

Paxil affect the brain and make it unbalanced. Take it only after the doctor recommendation.
