turning 45 this July, no period since last October of 2014. last week i had my period back that lasted until now. first few days i've experienced heavy bleeding with clots, yesterday it went lighter, then today it is heavy again. what is wrong?

40-60 percent of women who experienced heavy bleeding at the age 40 above is due to the following problems: fibroids of the uterus, polyps of the uterine lining, infections of the lining of the uterus and many more. i hope your problem is none of the above. actually i do hope it's not that serious. take care!

Hey Briana! everything is good. Don't take it serious. Sometimes it happens at this age due to eating disorder.

could it be that you're approaching menopausal? when i was your age
i experienced irregular periods and heavy as well. if it does't interfere or affect
your normal life then i think it's not a serious problem but have it checked out
anyway.

women problems, like all over the world. it's frustrating somehow when you have irregular cycles plus the fluctuation on severity of your menstrual flow. it sucks!

sounds like a submucosal fibroids where you experience heavy menstrual bleeding with large blood clots.. you may want to visit your gyne to have an ultrasound and check if there is something wrong.
