They said that soya can cause infertility and lower sperm count. Is it only for men or both? Can anyone tell me regarding this one?

unfortunately it is. soy product are said its a threat on man sperm production because of the estrogenic properties of soy isoflavones.

Soy milk is a good choice for people who are lactose intolerant and its also good alternative to those who are allergic of cow's milk. but sad to say it will also cause sterility.

Scary.. My brother likes soy milk a lot. I better warn him. :(

You must warn your brother before its too late..

Soy consumption has been suggested to exert potentially cancer-preventive effects in premenopausal women, such as increased menstrual cycle length and sex hormone-binding globulin levels and decreased estrogen levels.

A study last 2008 shows that men who consume an half average portion of soy products a day are more likely having a lower concentration of sperm.. The study found a decreasing trend in sperm concentration correlated with the amount of isoflavones (oestrogen like chemicals) consumed as part of a soy rich diet.

Thanks for the information though. But is there any other way or treatment to produce or to maintain sperm counts?

First is avoid bad eating habits. Refrain from eating a lot of processed foods, as well as foods high in sugar and spice. Stick on foods which are low in fat, and high in protein, vegetables, and whole grains. A diet high in zinc and folic acid helps encourage new sperm production.. Taking daily supplements is an excellent choice to start because they are specially formulated with the right blend of herbs and natural ingredients to quickly stimulate the body into producing more sperm.

yes i agree with liza. bad eating habit counts. i've read this once, an article about bad eating habit and chain smoke can cause or lowering down your sperm counts.
