never had a natural period

Roisin1986 - October 8

Im 28 and never had a natural period. I had a growth deficiency, diagnosed at a young age and was prescribed daily injection of genetrophin (growth hormones) from aged 4-19 to help the development of my pituitary gland. I started puberty around 18 but never had a natural period, the doctors put me on the contraceptive pill, microgynen at aged 19 (just incase) and this allowed me to have monthly bleeds. Every now and again I will come off the pill for a stint of around 6months but still no bleeds. My partner and I want to try to concieve in the next few years but arent sure of the next steps to take to check fertility. The doctors say they can knly check fertility levels when were ready to concieve. Im sure there are other ways?

if you're having abnormal periods then it would be impossible for you to conceive. you might want to treat this issue first before anything else. it is also a good idea to visit a fertility specialists.

aside from medication and all that, create a healthy lifestyle and take some alternative medicines. i mean, there is no harm in trying, just give it a shot! good luck!

visit a fertility specialist to be able to determine your fertility levels. i don't know if you are capable of conceiving but i am sure doctors knows best. keep an open communication with them..
