hello there! i'm medically obese and in my menopause stage. i've been always wanting to go on HRT for one big reason--- hot flushes. i know i need to address this question to doctors since they can give me the answer. i just thought i'd check it out with you ladies. it's okay if you can't give me the answer, i just
want to know if anyone here is facing this problem or at least similar to my problem. it would make me feel a little bit at ease to hear.

i'm not quite sure what to answer since i'm not a doctor. but i've heard from a friend that medically obese cannot take HRT unless they lose weight. i hope

sorry to hear that and sorry if i can't give the right answer. anyway, i just want to share my cousin's experienced. she's medically obese for long until her menopause. the doctor advice her to lose weight so she can take HRT treatment which she obviously did. to cut the story short, she successfully lose weight. so i think trixie got a point there. good luck!

i'm medically obese too and on HRT. i don't understand why it has to be that way. my doctor never mentioned anything like that.

well treatment varies from person to person. it also varies from doc to doc.

obesity increases the chance of getting medical problems like heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and many more. these are some reason why they are
not adviced to take HRT for menopause because it may complicate their health.
