Having Second Baby at 40
4 Replies
carol-anne-1975 - June 9

They say life begins at 40 and it literally has for the little one growing inside me. I just turned 40 two months ago and I'm pregnant! My husband and I weren't too sure about this whole thing as my eldest son is 14. He's going to have a little brother or sister soon and he's not too sure what to feel about that. However, I'd love to get feedback from other "late bloomers" here. Please share your experiences with me. I'm excited too but I'm afraid, as well. I've quit my job and am now focusing on my baby, as my OB suggested. Any other tips? I'd appreciate it.

that's so great. i'm having trouble conceiving myself and reading your post makes me really happy for other people who are having babies. btw, my mom had me when she was 41. as long as you're healthy and follow what the doctor says, i think you should be fine. mom said it was the fresh air that kept her healthy and strong. she had to quit her job too, less stress, you know.

Oh! I'm so sorry for you and I hope your journey to conception will be fruitful and successful. I quit my second job and now I just work part time. Hopefully that will reduce the stress. I feel like my body's not equipped to grow a baby! It feels weird but knowing a little human being is growing inside my 40 year old body but I'm happy too.

Congratulations, lucky for you! Be thankful because it's a blessing and not everyone is blessed to conceive. I had my 3rd child at the age of 35 and it really feels great like every time is your first time. Take care!

i know someone who got pregnant at 45 and it all went well.. just take extra careful. as we aged, we are prone to miscarriage and complications God forbid.
