HEREDITARY OR NOT?
DearMom - September 3

MY MOTHER HAS HAD ONE MISCARRIAGE AND I HAD ONE LAST MONTH. I WAS WONDERING IF IT IS HEREDITARY OR NOT? ARE THERE ANY STUDIES THAT PROVES IT?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

I don't think it is hereditary. All women are facing the risk of experiencing miscarriage. Stats says that every pregnant women has the possibility of a pregnancy loss.

I'm not quite sure but I think it is not hereditary. If there are cases that it runs in the family then I think it has something to do with the environment they are in. Pregnancy is very sensitive during the first trimester and maybe some environmental factors affects such in the family.

Brightcurve - September 4

It is rarely hereditary. Most common reasons for miscarriages that a certain family tree is experiencing are infectious conditions and structural abnormalities of the uterus.

OH I SEE MOST OF YOU SAYS IT IS NOT HEREDITARY. DO YOU HAVE ANY SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION TO PROVE IT? OUR FAMILY BELIEVES THAT IT IS HEREDITARY AND I WAS KINDA CONVINCED BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCES.

I agree with DearMom, it is hereditary especially if the main cause for the miscarriage is chromosomal abnormality. Such genetic problem can be acquire by the baby and eventually suffer from same thing during her own pregnancy.

Oh well this is a case to case basis because causes of miscarriage differs from person to person so talking if it is hereditary will depend on the reason for the miscarriage.

Yeah good point winona.

I would believe it is hereditary because I've seen it with my brother's wife. Her mother and Aunts took 4 years after marriage to have a successful pregnancy, a full term pregnancy.

For some it is hereditary and for other case it is not. I think there is a certain percentage to consider before be passed to the children.

Is hormonal imbalance hereditary?

HOPE - December 16

IT CAN BE HEREDITARY IN SOME WAY BUT THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OR DISORDER THAT IS HEREDITARY ARE BLOOD DISORDERS.

Amanda - December 16

No. hormonal imbalance is not hereditary. There are even others who just acquired it after a safe delivery. When a woman gets pregnant and after a successful one it is possible that there are certain changes in the hormones.

So thrombophilia is hereditary because it is a blood disorder, right?

Honeydee - December 17

Okay and what are other disorders that may cause miscarriage that are hereditary?

MoM - December 20

In our situation, it is not hereditary because I have a normal uterus and so are my sisters and my husbands sisters too.

Brightcurve - December 21

That could be a different case MoM. There are those whose structural of the uterus affects the whole family as I've mentioned before.
