Pregnant at an EARLY AGE

Is being pregnant at an early age, like just same year when having the first menstruation one factor that can cause pregnancy loss?

I guess so because at an early age our body may not be very ready to get pregnant yet. I'm a little worried for young pregnant mothers because I can't imagine how they can handle being pregnant and yet they are just starting to reach adulthood.

PREGNANT WOMEN AT AN EARLY AGE LIKE 15 BELOW ARE CONSIDERED HIGH RISK PREGNANCY. THERE ARE CERTAIN STUDIES THAT THESE MOTHERS ARE MORE LIKELY TO DEVELOP PREECLAMPSIA AND WILL RESULT TO SEIZURES.

So, at a very early and very late age, either case have high risk of miscarriage. At what age would it best for a woman to get pregnant, in a way will not have a high risk of miscarriage?

yeah both extremes are risky. i think it is best to get pregnant at mid 20s but it will also depend on the mother's weight and height.

Hi I am angela and I'm pregnant, 16 yrs old. I will be due on January 2010. I was just trying to search for early age pregnancy issues and came across this thread. So far in my pregnancy, I am fortunately healthy as well as my baby. I don't understand why is it risky to be pregnant at 16 in my case. I think it will depend on the mother. On the kind of lifestyle she's been having before and during pregnancy.

Yeah it may depend on the mother's lifestyle Angela16 but age during pregnancy is one of the main factor that may affect the progress of the baby's growth.

Being pregnant same year as the first menstruation is very rare but it is really possible. I would pity such mothers because they are too young to handle such responsibility.

This is more on taking the responsibility of being a mother and not on the risk of miscarriage.

This maybe risky because of the immature or underdeveloped body if the mother. Mothers at a young age should be extra careful as mothers with with older age.

The same risk of being older than 35 yrs old. They may have different situation but the risk of having a miscarriage has the same percentage. Could not imagine being pregnant when I menstruated, that was when I was 16.

Age itself is not a factor but the maturity of the mother and how does she consider the situation that she is having. The amount of educational background regarding being pregnant and the mother's behavior.

teanage mothers can also still be very playful and not as careful as matured mothers. the behavior is also a big factor.

It may cause pregnancy if the mother has some disorder but if we talk about the age itself, I don't it is a factor for a miscarriage. I've known mother's who are pregnant at an early age and they had a healthy delivery.
